Alice’s Cream Biscuits (For Ham Biscuits)
2C flour
1 TB baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1-3 TB sugar
1C heavy cream
400 for 20 mins. If frozen, 20-25 mins. Best slightly undercooked
To make these into ham biscuits. I roll out thinner than usual and make into a sandwich, slathering shaved ham (Westphalian is a good choice (if not Smithfield ham)
With maple syrup and out between 2 of the rolled ones, pinch together and store. (when Hettie made ham biscuits she used a buttermilk biscuit recipe, partially cooked the biscuits , then split and added ham with maple syrup and froze, then when thawed , less cooking time.
